The new iPhones, should you upgrade or wait till next year ?

Glowing iPhone Logo - had already informed about the latest surprise by Apple and by now you've heard that Apple unveiled its newest iPhones yesterday, the 5S and 5C.

iPhone 5 release -
Phil Schiller, Apple's senior vice president of worldwide product marketing, unveiled the iPhone 5C on Tuesday. In the U.S the device starts at $99 on a two-year contract yet experts have called this misleading because monthly costs weren't announced. When bought outright, the handset is $549, or £469 in the UK

As we all know, there’s a budget model, the iPhone 5C, and an upgraded, iPhone 5S.  My initial take is that the 5C will be a nice fit for many, but the iPhone 5S may have limited appeal, in part because of a rumor about the next iPhone.

This is a time for a change, if it wants to stay in the market. And bringing their two new phones in the market is their latest change.

Bosnian town of Zenica, September 3, 2013.
As I mentioned yesterday in my previous post that Nokia is playing a fairly good game with their Windows Phone and there are many high end strategy makers on its side that may have some other plans which we cannot predict right now and in case you haven't heard, Microsoft surprised everyone today when it announced that it would purchase substantially all of Nokia’s Devices; Services business, license Nokia’s patents, and license and use Nokia’s mapping services for about $7.17 billion. The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2014, subject to approval by Nokia’s shareholders, regulatory approvals and other closing conditions.

Why did Nokia choose Windows for its phone and not Android?

Nokia Android Logo -

Prototype of Nokia handset with Andriod OS - Technocratvilla.comMany of us keep hearing that Nokia should drop their current idea of sticking to Windows Phone Operating system and opt for Android. On the surface, it would make sense but the bottom line is Nokia's best move is to continue to stick to Windows phone operating system.

The android platform isdominated by one company, Samsung. The Korean based company was responsible for nearly 95% of the profits earned by selling Android flavored smartphones in the first quarter. LG took 2.5% of the profits while the remaining 2.7% was split by HTC, Motorola, Sony and others.
