Android 5.0 (Key Lime Pie) to be released this year

Android - Technocratvilla.com

With a just a four months to go before Google is supposed to unveil Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie, the rumors continue to fly about at a furious rate. Will it have a completely new design? Will it support low-end devices?  We really don’t know at all.

Google's latest iteration of its Android operating system is rumored to target a release date of October this year. Following its theme of naming its offerings after food, version 5.0 is codenamed Key Lime Pie.

The first of these updates should be Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, rumored to be arriving in July, while the biggest update of the year is thought to be Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie. And while we haven’t heard much about the real Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie, Android enthusiasts may hope that it resembles a Android 5.0 concept that recently emerged.

A new Android 5.0 concept from Jinesh Shah, likely doesn't represent what might Google has for Android owners but it is a concept that is worthy of the attention of Android’s fans.

We will not see the Android 5.0 Key Lime sooner than October. We might see Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie debuting this October along with a Nexus 5.

In the meantime Google might unveil Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, which will be a minor update to Android 4.2, which would give the smartphone and tablet manufacturers more time to update their devices to the latest Android version.

Although it is not yet clear what introductions an Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie arrival would make, latest reports have suggested the OS improvement will be back compatible with all manner of current Android handsets.

Xbox One - The all-in-one entertainment system

XBOX One Logo - Technocratvilla.com
On 21st of May, 2013, at the company's campus in Redmond, Wash., Microsoft unveiled the new Xbox One console. The Xbox One is an upcoming video game console from Microsoft. It is the successor to the Xbox 360 and the third console in the Xbox family of consoles.

The console itself also got a complete new design.

The Xbox One essentially runs three operating systems in one, with the traditional Xbox operating system now accompanied by the Windows Kernel giving a real Windows 8 look and feel to proceedings.

Those familiar with Windows 8 will feel right at home, and with content now spread very comfortably across a multi-screened plain, everything looks a great deal more spaced-out and easier to navigate.

Microsoft’s Xbox One is still a good six months away from its expected release and is already causing something of a stir amongst gaming fans. After an announcement event that created more questions than it answered, Microsoft has left gaming fans wondering whether they will be able to play used games on Xbox One without paying fee for it amongst other things. The company seems unable, or at least unwilling to answer those questions right now, which in turn just leads to people fearing the worst.

Specifications:

The Xbox One boasts 8 gigs of RAM, 8-core CPU and GPU SoC, and a substantial 500GB HDD. The SoC has been crafted by AMD, and with the HDD custom-built by Microsoft. As already confirmed, there’s a Blu-ray drive as well as USB 3.0 and integrated 802.11n Wi-Fi.

a game. Just with the sound of your voice.

Cloud Services:

As with any new tech product nowadays, Microsoft is on swaying gamers toward the floating realms of The Cloud.

These new changes also make the process of holding down a multiplayer battle less tedious. Those battles with the lag will be a thing of the past, with stable, dedicated servers hosting every multiplayer game. No longer will matches of this sort be hosted on somebody’s console somewhere far away, but allowing up to 128 participants to do battle without the stuttering connection drops reducing the enjoyment.

No Backwards compatibility:

Although this news will certainly turn a few smiles upside down, it was always something of inevitability. if you want to play those old games, you will need to keep the old console. The Xbox One will not be backward compatible with Xbox 360 content, as the systems use different core architectures.[4] The Xbox 360 uses a PowerPC architecture while the Xbox One uses a x86-based one.

Required internet connection:

The Xbox website, Xbox Live programming director Larry Hryb, and Microsoft corporate vice president Phil Harrison have stated that an internet connection will be required for the Xbox One. Phil Harrison has also stated that single player games will require online verification every 24 hours.

But this is a big year for gaming, and things are just heating up. With combatants Nintendo and Sony already weighing in with Wii U and PlayStation 4, respectively, a lot is riding on Xbox One to meet (or beat) expectations.

Xbox One Release Date:

While no specific date was given, Microsoft did however confirm that Xbox One will be available worldwide later this year. That would likely mean around November, 2013.
